Evangelos Kalampokis is an Adjunct Lecturer at the Business Administration Dept. of the University of Macedonia, Greece and a research fellow with the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research & Technology - Hellas (CERTH-ITI) in Thessaloniki, Greece and the Information Systems Lab of the University of Macedonia, Greece. He holds a Diploma (MEng) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, an MSc in Business Administration-MBA from the University of Macedonia, Greece and a Ph.D. (thesis: "Linked Open Government Data Analytics") from the same University. His main research interests include Linked Data, Data Analytics, Semantic Statistics, and Open Government.
During the last nine years, he has initiated and worked in several European Union funded research projects such as H2020 OpenGovIntelligence and FP7 OpenCube. Between June 2009 and November 2011 he has been a research intern at the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI), the largest Semantic Web Research centre worldwide.
Since 2013 he has been teaching Semantic Data Analytics and Information Systems at the Business Administration department of the University of Macedonia, Greece. Evangelos Kalampokis has published in high impact journals including IEEE Intelligent Systems (2016 WoS IF: 2.374), Internet Research (2016 WoS IF: 2.931), and the Journal of Biomedical Informatics (2016 WoS IF: 2.753). Since 2015 he is a co-chair at the International Workshop on Semantic Statistics, which is co-located with the International Semantic Web Conference.
